Accordingly, the agricultural and livestock products in Iran have mainly been influenced by the interventionist policies. The research intends to investigate the application of Protection Rate Index so as to measure the price intervention policies which have affected the agricultural prices in general and that of cotton in particular during 1983-2008. The model was firstly put into the practice by a group of researches in one of the World Bank project aimed to achieve an economic analysis of agricultural price intervention of government in eighteen countries located in different regions around the world. This research is particularly going to prove that direct price intervention of government in the cotton market has had positive implications. According to this research, these positive effects, more importantly, may differ dependent upon the fact that nominal or implicit rate of protection is calculated and that what exchange rate is applied for the border price evaluation. Considering the above and given the fact that the change in the pricing policies in 1990 has been in favor of the production, it is strongly recommended, for the sake of comparison among probable protective structures of different agricultural products, to focus on calculation of Protection Rate in other sort of significant animal husbandry and agricultural products such as wheat, rice, meat and milk. سیاست‌های مداخله‌ی دولت در قیمت‌گذاری محصولات کشاورزی از سیاست‌های رایج بیش‌تر کشورهای در حال توسعه بویژه در دهه‌های اخیر بوده است. در ایران نیز بسیاری از کالاهای زراعی و دامی، تحت تاثیر این مداخله‌ها قرار داشته است. هدف کلی این تحقیق، استفاده از شاخص نرخ حمایت برای اندازه‌گیری آثار سیاست‌های مداخله‌ی مستقیم دولت در قیمت‌گذاری محصولات زراعی (بررسی موردی محصول پنبه) طی دوره‌ی زمانی 86-1361 است. الگوی مورد استفاده برای نخستین بار به وسیله‌ی گروهی از پژوهش‌‌گران در پروژه‌ی بانک جهانی در تحلیل اقتصادی آثار سیاست‌های مداخله‌ی دولت در قیمت‌گذاری کالاهای کشاورزی در 18 کشور از مناطق مختلف جهان استفاده شده است. نتایج نشان می‌دهد که نخست، اثر سیاست‌های مداخله‌ی مستقیم بر پنبه مثبت بوده است. افزون بر آن، این اثرات بسته به این که نرخ حمایت اسمی و یا ضمنی مورد محاسبه قرار گیرد و نیز با توجه به نرخ ارز مورد استفاده در قیمت‌های مرزی متفاوت است. دوم تغییر جهت سیاست‌های قیمت‌گذاری در سال 69، در عمل جهت‌گیری حمایت از تولید داشته است. پیش‌نهاد می‌شود برای مقایسه‌ی ساختار حمایت محصولات مختلف کشاورزی، به محاسبه‌ی نرخ‌های حمایت در مورد دیگر محصولات مهم زراعی و دامی مانند گندم، برنج، گوشت قرمز و شیر توجه شود. https://www.iranianjae.ir/article_9768_c400db3363b99ee026bc9ed0741b79df.pdf
